LISA STEVENS RECOGNIZED AS SAG/AFTRA INTIMACY COORDINATOR

Congratulations to Lisa Stevens for meeting SAG/AFTRA's recommended standards for qualifications, vetting, and training as an Intimacy Coordinator. Find Lisa on SAG/AFTRA's IC Pre-Registry List.

SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher said:

"As we, at long last, move into a time where a performer's personal space matters, a new field has emerged: intimacy coordinators. This is an important step forward for all SAG-AFTRA members and will improve the atmosphere on sets and in productions requiring intimate scenes. With the presence of the intimacy coordinator, performers will be protected in potentially vulnerable situations."

ZOË BELL'S #BOSSBITCHFIGHTCHALLENGE INSPIRES THE WOMEN OF BROADWAY TO "FIGHT" FOR CHARITY

Last week, after Zoë Bell, a world-renowned stunt actress from New Zealand, released the now viral-video she called the #BossBitchFightChallenge, the ladies of Broadway were inspired to get in on the action, too.

In the Broadway parody version, Katie Goffman, Sara Andreas, and fellow Broadway performers and choreographers like Chita Rivera nominee Angie Schworer, Mean Girls star Kate Rockwell, International Emmy nominee Lisa Stevens, Tony-nominated director Kristin Hanggi, Olivier winner and Tony nominee Kelly Devine, and so many more recreate — in a way only a group of multi-faceted theatrical talent can — a melee of their own. And to make the fun even better, these women didn't just decide to beat each other up for fun; the video is done all in the name of charity.

"If you like the video, please consider donating to The Actors Fund," Goffman said. "During this crisis so many performers and artists are out of work for an unknown length of time and any donation helps this wonderful organization support our fellow actors in need."

REVIEW: 9 TO 5 - THE MUSICAL, UK TOUR: "A GREAT NIGHT OUT FOR ANYBODY CRAVING A FUN EVENING AT THE THEATRE"

"...full of rip-roaring tunes...as relevant today as it was nearly 40 years ago...performances are strong and funny...9 to 5's sass and wit ensure that this is a great night out for anybody craving a fun evening at the theatre. The music is fabulous, too — you'll be tapping your toes before you even know it! — while the choreography is clever and perfectly executed."

REVIEW: PROM QUEEN - THE MUSICAL: "A FUN, INSPIRING, BEAUTIFUL PRODUCTION"

"...wildly entertaining, brilliantly directed and choreographed with moments you'd expect to see on a stage occupied by professional actors, not students. Lisa Stevens' handling of the 50-member cast and ensemble from 16 different secondary schools across the region reinforces my opinion of her as one of Canada's leading choreographers. None of the dance moves were overly challenging, but Stevens moved the students around the stage in a fun, effective and efficient way, creating provocative and powerful tableaus at times...an inspiring, fun and visually beautiful show that shines a light on many difficult issues and challenges in the lives of teenagers, parents and educators, wonderfully performed, easy to digest and riveting entertainment from beginning to end.

BROADWAY WORLD REVIEW OF MAMMA MIA - DIRECTION AND CHOREOGRAPHY BY LISA STEVENS

"Mamma Mia is one of those shows that is a pleasure to revisit. It features the music of the 70's Swedish rock group ABBA. The direction and choreography by Lisa Stevens is beyond reproach. The amount of use they get out of a small stage with multiple drops, rolling platforms, and choreographed prop changes is remarkable." Read more on Broadway World Kansas City:

DANCER TAKES ON THE CHALLENGE OF HER CAREER FOR WEST SIDE STORY

Lisa Stevens loves to tackle big choreography, but West Side Story was just about the most daunting challenge she has faced in her career. "You have to listen to the instrumentation," said Stevens, "You have to make friends with the music...To choreograph something like that is very exciting." Stevens said the production has a lot of depth, in the music and the storyline. "It tugs at the heartstrings and it opens conversations," she said. "It's unforgettable, the music is sweeping and epic."
